About

Artist, Jo Ann Tomaselli, on her art: “Defining myself as a particular type of photographer is impossible as every moment behind the lens offers an opportunity to see the world from a different point of view. My photographic goal is simplicity, be that in my landscape, nature or portrait work.  My inspiration? Color, shape, design and the most delightful factor of all ~ fun! “

1980 Liberal Arts degree in Photography & Creative Writing, Stockton University, Pomona, NJ.  Mentored with renowned photographer Joel Sternfeld and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Stephen Dunn. 

1980-1994  IATSE electrician Atlantic City, New York & Philadelphia for stage, television & movies; assistant to lighting designers Peter Morse, Lenny Cowles & Tennyson Flowers illuminating many esteemed artists from Rosemary Clooney to the Rolling Stones.

1994  Attended Florida School of Massage, Gainesville. Studies included Structural Integration, Esoteric Healing and  NAHA certification in Aromatherapy.

1995 Moved to coastal NC, married my college sweetheart Kent, changed my maiden name from Fazzari to Tomaselli and lived between Sweden & the USA for 18 years.

2004 Migrated from 35mm format to digital and, loving the days of darkroom work sessions, now process in Adobe LightRoom & Photoshop.

Currently shooting with a Sony A7Riii and a variety of pro lenses for my Fine Art and Architectural photography, running a small B&B & blending wonderful potions.
