On this road trip, while RV-ing Across America,  I had been driving pre-dawn for several hours, heading west towards Seattle all the while hoping for a coffee shop to appear – a rare find on any desolate highway that runs through farmland in the middle of what feels like no-where USA.

Finally, at 5:30 am, I spotted a quaint cafe, the OPEN sign glowing in the dark ~ success!  I pulled the RV up in front and hopped out, anticipating my hot cup of joe. For some reason I took the long way around, walking behind the camper and there, glancing up the highway, I witnessed this amazing ball of fire rising up from the pavement and illuminating the overhead clouds.

I didn’t see the crosswalk until I was processing this image, thus the name Abbey Road ~ all that’s missing is 4 young British guys with shaggy haircuts!  I was looking for coffee and got so much more and for these moments, I’m forever grateful.
